What is EncycloKink?

The Triskelion Society's EncycloKink is a free resource for information about the BDSM lifestyle, maintained by the community for the benefit of the community and all else who seek information about it. Anyone can add or edit articles. All that we ask is that you do so only in areas in which you truly have a valid contribution to make. This is a moderated forum and sysops may remove content that is judged to be grossly inaccurate or dangerous. If you read an article that you feel could be improved or has mistakes in it please feel free to make changes. Click here to find out how to get started. If you disagree with the way an article is laid out or you have issues with the content there is a discussion page where you can voice your opinions. If you do want to add to or edit EncycloKink, please read our Help for frequently asked questions and our Editing policy for guidance on editing and addressing disputed information.

Advice for people new to the lifestyle

For those people new to the BDSM lifestyle, EncycloKink contains a Novices section that offers an introduction to the lifestyle and provides some basic guidance and advice on safe experimentation.

Technical Issues

If you find a technical problem with the site or have any suggestions on how we can improve it please add your suggestions to our Technical log.

Other Topics

We have sections on art, literature, and films, all with a fetish or BDSM theme. The lifestyle is not always without its risks. Find out where you stand with regard to BDSM and the law. If you you need somewhere to show off your more creative side, our main site accepts submissions and Flogger Falls, our community forum has a section for stories and poems.

How do I add my own knowledge to EncycloKink?

If you search for a term that does not yet have an article you are presented with a list of all possible pages that might apply, as well as a link that allows you to type directly into the system. It is as simple as that! If you want to expand or correct an article, they all have an edit tab or link which allows you to edit them.

There is a Help page to assist you.

Fetish

A fetish is a sexual attraction to people wearing certain types of clothing (often rubber, leather, shoes or boots) or a part of a person's body feet are perhaps the most common) or even an inanimate object. Many people who are involved in the lifestyle are not strictly speaking fetishists but enjoy wearing rubber and/or leather as part of their interest in BDSM or alternate sexuality in general. We are working on a section for Fetish Fashion with current designers.

BDSM

BDSM (Bondage & Discipline or B&D, Domination & submission or D/s, Sadism & Masochism or S&M) is a catch all phase used to describe an interest in any or all of those areas. Our articles cover many aspects of BDSM from asphyxiation to zippers (a form of clamping play). You can learn out about bondage positions, bondage techniques, dungeon equipment, home made toys (commonly called pervertibles), safety precautions and much more. The Triskelion Society main site includes lists of recommended vendors!

Other Sexualities

EncycloKink is not limited to BDSM and fetishes. If your thing is tattooing, piercings, Transvestism, Transexuality, or any other alternate sexuality, then you should be able to find information about it here. If we don't list information on any on your favorite kink then feel free to add a new article.

Events and Munches

Do you want to know more about events and munches ("plainclothes" gatherings of people interested in the lifestyle in a public or semi-public place) or how to get involved in the wider BDSM or fetish community? We have sections on events and munches in general and those our members have written about in their communities as well as the etiquette to observe when attending one. Looking for a companion for events and maybe more? Learn about lifestyle dating websites, including useful and important information about safety and more when using these sites.

Toys

Information on Toys is widely available but we include it here too. You can discover about a wide range of them here, from dildos to gags, rope to whips, violet wands to Bondage Furniture.

Art

If you are an artist whose work has themes of BDSM or sexuality, we'd like to have a bit of information about you and some (watermarked) examples of your work in our art Category.
